C., cuando utilizaban la luz solar para encender fuego reflejando los rayos del sol sobre objetos brillantes. M\u00e1s tarde, en el siglo III a. Si bien la fuente de energ\u00eda es la misma (el sol), la tecnolog\u00eda de cada sistema es diferente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La energ\u00eda solar fotovoltaica se basa en el efecto fotovoltaico, por el cual un fot\u00f3n (la unidad b\u00e1sica de la luz) impacta en una superficie semiconductora como el silicio y genera la liberaci\u00f3n de un electr\u00f3n. La energ\u00eda solar t\u00e9rmica es menos sofisticada y consiste simplemente en calentar directamente el agua (u otros fluidos) mediante la luz solar.
